If you’re like most Americans, you have at least one credit card and you use it multiple times a week. You care for it, pulling it out of your wallet lovingly and handing it over to the cashier, and then returning it gently until it’s time to use it again.

But what has your credit card done for you lately?

If your card is not giving you reward points or cash back, then you’re being taken advantage of. Nowadays it’s tough to get something for nothing, but most credit card companies are doing the complete opposite. They’re rewarding you for buying things you would buy anyway.

Usually it works like this; you receive one point or 1% cash back for each dollar you spend with extra points given for eligible gas, dining and grocery purchases.

The best reward card is probably American Express, since their points are flexible and can be transfered to most Airlines and Hotels, as well to buy a flat screen TV. However, there are lots of great cards that offer you points or even cash back.
